Who we are
The Gig is produced by CCT Productions Pty Ltd. This policy explains how we collect, use, and store personal information when you visit thegig.au or purchase a ticket to The Gig, in line with the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles.
In this policy, “we”, “us”, and “our” means CCT Productions Pty Ltd. “You” means the person whose personal information we collect. “Personal information” has the meaning given in the Privacy Act 1988.
What we collect
When you purchase a ticket, we collect your name, email address, and address through TryBooking. If age verification applies at entry, we may collect age related information. If you sign up for updates on our website, we collect your email address.
Postcode data for partner reporting
We collect your address at the point of ticket purchase, but we only use it to work out your postcode. Once we’ve provided postcode data to our funding partners, we delete your address. We do not store your address beyond this point, and we do not use it for any other purpose.
How we collect it
Ticket purchases are processed through TryBooking. TryBooking has its own privacy policy covering how it handles your payment and booking details. At checkout, you will be asked separately whether you want to receive marketing updates from us. This is optional and separate from buying your ticket.
Why we collect it
We use your information to process your ticket, manage entry, send marketing updates if you have opted in, report audience location data to funding partners using postcodes only, and understand how people use our website.
Who we share it with
We share ticketing information with TryBooking to process your purchase. If you have opted in to marketing, we share your email with Klaviyo to send updates. We use Meta, TikTok, and Google advertising and analytics tools on our website, which collect information about how you interact with our site and ads. De-identified postcode data may be shared with funding partners to demonstrate audience reach.
Overseas disclosure
Some of your personal information is handled by service providers located overseas, for website analytics, advertising, and email marketing.
Marketing communications
We only send marketing emails to people who opt in separately at the point of ticket purchase or through our website. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and we action unsubscribe requests promptly.
Cookies and tracking
Our website uses cookies and tracking tools including Meta, TikTok, and Google to understand site usage and show relevant ads. These tools do not directly identify you by name.
Data security and retention
We take reasonable steps to keep your information secure and hold it only as long as necessary for the purposes above.
Access, correction, and complaints
To access or correct your information, or make a complaint, contact us through thegig.au/faq. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, the independent regulator for privacy matters in Australia, at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
